Jailbreak iPod 4.2.1?

I would like to jailbreak my iPod Touch (3rd Gen, OS: 4.2.1). I want the simplest way to do this, and I’m wondering when I’ll be able to jailbreak on JailBreakMe.com! If I’m going to have to wait a really long time (or never be able to), what are some other ‘SIMPLE’ jailbreaks for my OS? I want to jailbreak because I want to have a background on my iPod‘s home screen. I’m pretty good with computers, so any way to jailbreak would be AWESOME. Thanks, :D

Jailbreakme.com will more than likely NEVER work again since it relied on a Userland port which has long been patched

you will need to put device into DFU mode
and run program

As for downgrading you will need your SHSH blobs saved from 4.0.1/02
if you dont have them its a no go

I have an iPod Touch 4 running iOS 4.2.1 and it’s the MC model. Does anyone know a jailbreak that can jailbreak my iTouch? Answers that include redsn0w will be ignored because as i said, it’s the MC model. Thanks in advance ;)

HOW DO I JAILBREAK MY IPHONE 4 NOW THAT I CANT DOWNGRADE TO 4.0.1?

k so when i first got my iphone 4 i updated my phone not knowing that this new update would deny jailbreaking,. sooo i tried downgrading but when the firmware tries to verify with apple and from there you get an error. SO i was just asking for some news on how i could possibly jailbreak my i phone 4 now that im stuck on 4.0.2

Woah, stop there. Don’t be fooled by people who want to charge you, because there are always ways you can do it yourself. Some of my links below are related to Pwnagetool, and Ultrasn0w which are the most common jailbreaking tools you can get for free. And they are very easy to operate.

iPhone 5 Verizon

Does anyone know if verizon is getting the iPhone and when. I am getting a new phone and I really want the iPhone but I have to have Verizon

I’ve heard January of 2011 or that summer. If apple is going to make the iPhone 5 soon for Verizon I’d be welling to wait a little longer

What you heard is pretty much the up-to-date information on the rumor.

The rumor is coming together more than ever before so to say it’s the same as it was in 2007 is complete bull.

It’s coming, but we don’t know when. I expect it to be here no later than June of 2011 and as early as January 2011. The least I expect is an official announcement in January of 2011, so I would wait until the end of that month and you’ll likely know what’s going on by then.

I don’t know what’s going to happen as far as the iPhone 5. There’s a lot of things that Apple would be “smart” to do, but that doesn’t mean that is what they will do. It’s possible that Apple will break their Update-iPhone-Once-A-Year cycle and bring out the iPhone 5 on Verizon and AT&T sooner than summer.

Conclusion: Wait until January 2011 and see with the rest of us.

I was wondering if the iPhone 5 will be for verizon since iPhones come out ever June or July but the iPhone 4 for verizon is coming out in feb 10

Chinese OEM to Begin iPhone 5 Production Soon

Macotakara, a Chinese IT blog site unveils the release of an iPhone5 early this October which is currently in production by Apple subcontractors. The Foxconn Technology is at 85% production while Pegatron Technology has produced 15% of said iPhones. The latest operating system iOS 5 that will ship with the iPhone 5 is not yet ready to be released so it is rumoured that this is delaying the final packaging the completed devices.

The new iPhone 5 is rumoured to no longer the single core A4 processor that is currently used by the iPhone 5, instead, it is expected to be powered by a downsized version the Apple dual-core A5 CPU that is currently used by the iPad2 as reported by Brooke Crothers of CNET. Also included in the iPhone’s product specification is a Qualcomm 3G communications chip that supports both WCDMA and CDMA services on top of this the iPhone 5 is slated to get an upgraded 8 megapixel resolution camera sensor from Sony.

According to Crothers, Forward Concepts President Will Strauss said that the iPhone’s A5 chip will be manufactured by a subcontractor namely Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) instead of Samsung due to a patent litigation matter.

The article also said that the A5 chip is expected to counterpart workload demand through its dynamic power management feature allowing an automatic reduction of processing speed during low CPU intensive operations which will result in lower heat generation and longer battery life

Jonathan S. Geller of BGR revealed that an internal Best Buy document from an insider leaked to him about the release and mentioned that Best Buy and Best Mobile stores are anticipating placing orders of the iPhone 5 early this coming week for delivery in the first week of October. Geller also said that the document says Sprint will carry iPhone5.

How to restore Safari Icon on iPhone or iPad

I recently had a situation where the Safari icon on my iPad was missing, I searched everywhere for it but it was on none of my many screens of apps, after some research I found that there are several methods to restore the Safari icon on an iPhone or iPad depending on different situations. Below I have detailed the methods I found.

How to restore missing Safari icon on iphone or iPad

  1. The first method is to check on all of your application screens, it might just be a case that you have accidently moved it off of your Dock bar and onto one or your home screens or a sub folder.
  2. The next step is to look in Settings | General  | Restrictions to ensure restrictions is not enabled and if it is to check that Safari is set to Allow to ON(As pictured below)

  3. If your Safari Icon is still missing then I again recommend going into Settings | General | Reset and selecting Reset Home Screen Layout (As pictured below) note this is the procedure that restored my Safari Icon to the Dock bar

Warning for the above step: all home screen layouts, i.e. all folders will be removed and applications that were in folders will be moved to the root of your home screens. So if you perform the above step to restore Safari ensure you are ready to recreate your folders.

4.Finally if all the above steps fail a restore or reset to defaults may be required.

If all has gone well then you should have your Safari Icon back on the dock bar as pictured below

Usually the new iPhone is released about 2 weeks after the start of the WWDC. The date of the WWDC has not yet been announced. No one knows whether a CDMA version of the phone will be released.

an app named 2Do doesn’t allow push notifications for jailbroken iPhones so i’m thinking of restoring it.
Does anyone else’s 2Do jailbroken app provide push notifications?

Yes doing a restore on your phone will undo the jailbreak. Also your push apps should work once you unjailbreak. Although they should work with the jailbreak. I have plenty of push apps that work fine on my jailbroken phone. Either way if the jailbreak is causing the app to not work then restoring the iphone should solve the problem

I am currently on 4.0 jailbroken. I know it will break my device if i update so I have to restore. Do I have to restore to 4.0 the update to 4.2.1 and then jailbreak that or just restore to 4.2.1 missing out the 4.0

Untethered is only on a mac. If u have a mac you can use the newest redsn0w 0.9.7b7 or greenpois0n rc5 that came out last nite. U have to restore to a factory 4.2.1, and jailbreak. But first use tinyumbrella to save your shsh blobs so you can always go back. <—very important. If u r on windows just wait till greenpoison comes out with rc5 for windows in about a week or 2 so it is untethered unless you are comfortable booting tethered at every reboot of ipod. Good luck
