AllThingsDigital is reporting that Apple are expected to hold a media event on 2 March for the launch of the iPad, the site also says the event will be held in San Francisco.

This same site also suggests that the event is likely to b held at the Yerba Buena Center for the arts.

Even though AllThingsDigital are expecting the iPad 2 to be launch on 2 March it is highly likely that this date could be for the new MacBook Pro which industry have suggested may be launched on 24 February. Both dates are only days away so we will find out soon in due course.

Other reports out this morning have suggested the release date for the iPad 2 has been pushed back two months; however this has also been debunked by industry gurus and the mostly likely release date will be sooner rather than later both due to iPad shortages as well as a recent iPad price drop.
