iPhone 5 Verizon

Daniel asks…

Verizon iPhone? iPhone 5?

Does anyone know if verizon is getting the iPhone and when. I am getting a new phone and I really want the iPhone but I have to have Verizon

I’ve heard January of 2011 or that summer. If apple is going to make the iPhone 5 soon for Verizon I’d be welling to wait a little longer

admin answers:

What you heard is pretty much the up-to-date information on the rumor.

The rumor is coming together more than ever before so to say it’s the same as it was in 2007 is complete bull.

It’s coming, but we don’t know when. I expect it to be here no later than June of 2011 and as early as January 2011. The least I expect is an official announcement in January of 2011, so I would wait until the end of that month and you’ll likely know what’s going on by then.

I don’t know what’s going to happen as far as the iPhone 5. There’s a lot of things that Apple would be “smart” to do, but that doesn’t mean that is what they will do. It’s possible that Apple will break their Update-iPhone-Once-A-Year cycle and bring out the iPhone 5 on Verizon and AT&T sooner than summer.

Conclusion: Wait until January 2011 and see with the rest of us.

Joseph asks…

Will the iPhone 5 be for verizon?

I was wondering if the iPhone 5 will be for verizon since iPhones come out ever June or July but the iPhone 4 for verizon is coming out in feb 10

admin answers:

No one knows and no one will know until June.

iPhone 5 to feature 8MP Camera Sensor from Sony?

Did howard Stringer just reveal that the upcoming iPhone 5 will feature an 8 megapixel camera sensor from Sony

Did Howard Stringer CEO of Sony just reveal that the upcoming iPhone 5 will feature an 8 megapixel camera sensor from Sony

In a recent slip up from Sony CEO Howard Stringer, it may have been revealed that the iPhone 5 will feature an 8 Megapixel camera sensor from Sony.

The iPhone 5 rumor goes that at a recent Talking Tech with Sony event in an interview with Walt Mossberg, Stringer was talking about how the recent earthquake and tsunami had caused issues for 15 of Sony’s factories including one that supplied image sensors to Apple for their iPhones or iPads:

The quote from Howard Stringer was as follows:

“Our best sensor technology is built in one of the (tsunami) affected factories. Those go to Apple for their iPhones…or iPads. Isn’t that something? They buy our best sensors from us?”

Rumours that Apple were switching to Sony for its camera sensor for the iPhone 5 have been circulating the internet ever since issues with OmniVision (the company supplying camera sensors for the iPhone 4 and 3Gs) sensor have surfaced, these complaints focus around the low light performance of the sensor, and a yellow tinge that is seen on most low light shots.

Chinese OEM to Begin iPhone 5 Production Soon

Macotakara, a Chinese IT blog site unveils the release of an iPhone5 early this October which is currently in production by Apple subcontractors. The Foxconn Technology is at 85% production while Pegatron Technology has produced 15% of said iPhones. The latest operating system iOS 5 that will ship with the iPhone 5 is not yet ready to be released so it is rumoured that this is delaying the final packaging the completed devices.

The new iPhone 5 is rumoured to no longer the single core A4 processor that is currently used by the iPhone 5, instead, it is expected to be powered by a downsized version the Apple dual-core A5 CPU that is currently used by the iPad2 as reported by Brooke Crothers of CNET. Also included in the iPhone’s product specification is a Qualcomm 3G communications chip that supports both WCDMA and CDMA services on top of this the iPhone 5 is slated to get an upgraded 8 megapixel resolution camera sensor from Sony.

According to Crothers, Forward Concepts President Will Strauss said that the iPhone’s A5 chip will be manufactured by a subcontractor namely Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) instead of Samsung due to a patent litigation matter.

The article also said that the A5 chip is expected to counterpart workload demand through its dynamic power management feature allowing an automatic reduction of processing speed during low CPU intensive operations which will result in lower heat generation and longer battery life

Jonathan S. Geller of BGR revealed that an internal Best Buy document from an insider leaked to him about the release and mentioned that Best Buy and Best Mobile stores are anticipating placing orders of the iPhone 5 early this coming week for delivery in the first week of October. Geller also said that the document says Sprint will carry iPhone5.

iPhone 5 Case Comparison

iPhone 5 Case Deign Specification
iPhone 4 has long been released and we have indeed seen its stylistic Apple design although we are still left unsure as to how the IPhone 5’s casing really looks. Over the last year there had been several claims and rumours as to final design of the iPhone 5 with an early design leaked in April that  suggested a slender look that is balanced from top to bottom and thinner than the IPhone 4…

Then a couple of months ago, there has been an alleged case design that surfaced which eventually reached third-party cases manufacturers which was a more detailed design. From this design, a designer made measurements of this device that people has been curious about. Here goes the measurement shown in the above image (courtesy of MacRumours) puts the iPhone 5 at 4.33” x 2.36” giving the device a 4″ diagonal screen size, so in all a larger screen than the iPhone 4 but that’s shorter than the iPhone 4’s which measures 4.5” x 2.31”. In this rumour the diagonal screen size is larger because the new screen will go right to the edge of the device.

Case manufacturers that hit production line early basing their product the earlier iPhone 5 rumour dimensions of 4.7” x 2.6” and a thickness of .30”and tapering down to .065” at the bottom of the case, already have cases on the market, but if this new rumour is correct it looks like these cases might be set for the scrap heap.

As nothing has been been officially release yet, we are left to to wonder if the iPhone 5 will be larger than the iPhone 4. Well, possible launch is this October so we should all know very soon.

iPhone 5 TV Commercial in Production

Since everyone has been excited about the release of the new iPhone 5, news is that the TV Ads is currently in production, Kasper Jade, an Apple Insider has revealed the production of the TV commercial for the latest iphone. According to him, there has been a reliable source that somewhere around Los Angeles the shoot is currenly taking place. One of the reports even say that an AT&T Executive has already told his staff that things will get a lot busier in the next 35-50 days.

Here’s the catch. It has been said that the commercial is scheduled to hit screens by October as production is about to be finished in the first week for that month. Excitement is the word indeed! Aside from the commercial being available, the gadget itself is about to be out either sometime in October. Only a couple of weeks more to go if  all that we have heard is infact true. It’s only then that all rumors will end as the true identity of the Apple iPhone 5 is unveiled.

Rumours of the iPhone 5 have been circulating for a long time and the number of rumours have increased in recent months and this shows that the iPhone 5 will be another hit after the success of Apple’s iPhone 4.

Possible first iPhone 5 Photo Leaked

iPhone 5 Photo Leaked

Someone by the name of “guigsh” over at the MacRumors forum posted what could possibly be the first picture of the iPhone 5. Along with the picture, guigsh posted “Picture taken yesterday in the office of a French operator.”

We’ve heard rumors that Apple has sent iPhone 5 testing units to carriers, and the way the phone looks in the picture does seem to fit the descriptions we’ve heard so far. We can’t know for sure if this is indeed a real iPhone 5 picture. But if this the real deal and not a photoshop hoax, then the iPhone 5 really is looking good, dont you think?

iPhone 5 Release Date

As with all previous iPhones there has been a new model released
around late June mid July every year.

this we can be fairly certain that the iPhone 5 Release date will be sometime
in  June 2011

iPhone 5 Feature List Rumours

iPhone 5 feature list rumours

With speculation mounting on release date and iPhone 5 features, the team here at Apple-Newz decided to put together a list of the features that we believe will make it onto the new iPhone 5.

FaceTime HD – A feature that the team here at Apple Newz will make it the iPhone 5 is FaceTime HD (720p). Recently a leaked Box for the upcommign MacBook  Pro made an appearance on the internet and industry experts along with our team here at Apple Newz believe it is very likely it will make its way to the next product refreshes of the iPhone and iPad, that being the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 or with the release of iOS 5. Only time will tell but the with announcement of the iPad 2 just around the corner we may soon see.

iPhone 5 Wireless Syncing (AirSync) – As mentioned in an earlier article at Apple Newz today we believe a variation of AirSync will make its way to the iPhone 5 and iPad 5 with iOS5. Imagine being able to sync with your iTunes via Wifi or 3G, files, videos, music, It would be a welcomed feature.

iPhone 5 Near-field Communication (NFC) – This feature is already integrated into Google’s Android and some Nokia models and would allow you to pay for items via Pay Pass/Mobile Pay or to start your car. This technology is still young so it may not make it onto the iPhone 5 however some well known industry speculators are betting on it being in the next refresh.

iPhone 5 64 Gb Storage – An iPhone 5 with larger capacity is defiantly on the cards, with the price of memory continually dropping and these devices doing more and more it is only natural that we will see the iPhone 5 or perhaps the iPhone 6 with 64 Gb of storage.

iPhone 5 Light Peak –  Light Peak is an optical interface by Intel that has been designed to replace current bus standard including SCSI , SATA, USB, FireWire, PCIX. With a transfer rate of of around 10 Gbit/s (and up to 100 Gbit/s in future) it’s easy to see why this standard has been touted as been in the next gen MacBook Pro as well as the iPhone 5 and iPad 2. Will it make it? In reality maybe on the next gen MacBook Pro and maybe not until the iPhone 6 and iPad 3.

Multi carrier support (CDMA / GSM /UTMS / 4G LTE) – Some of the biggest gripes from potential customers are for its multi-carrier support, Apple Newz believes this will be addressed with the iPhone 5 including seeing an iPhone 5 4G LTE.

iPhone 5 ARM A8 for Faster Performance – There have been a few rumours around the internet that the iPhone 5 will feature a ew ARM Cortex A8 processor as well as and SGX543 for better graphics performance. Apple-Newz believe the ARM Cortex A8 processor will be in the next iPhone 5, however we are not so sure about the SGX543 graphics processor, it just seems a little too much

iPhone 5 extended battery life – Some pendants are saying the iPhone 5 will 14 hours of talk time on 3G and 7 hours on 4G but we think this is all hype and think batter life will be extended in the next model but by no more than 20%.

iPhone 5 Larger 4 inch screen/display – Another recent rumour that we would like to believe it an upgrade from the current 3.5 inch screen to a 4 inch screen,

With the expected announcement of the iPhone 5 just a few months away in June, it’s really not long before we learn which of the above features are myth and with are true, however we will get a glimpse of what will be available when the iPad 2 is expected to be announced on 2 March 2011.

iPhone 5 AirSync Possible Feature

iPhone 5 AirSync, this is one of the features that has been available in Microsoft’s Zune which has been promised by Steve Job’s for quite a while, the AirSync feature has not surfaced yet. However speculation is mounting that it will be found on the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 with iOS 5.

iPhone 5 AirSync Possible feature

So what is iPhone 5 AirSync and how will it improve your iPhone experience?

iPhone 5 AirSync will allow the syncing of Files, Music, Movies, Apps, Games, Email/Calendar with a user’s PC or Mac (via iTunes) over the air.
Imagine being on the road and being able to sync the latest files from the office, or when at home syncing or even live streaming off your media server.

There are applications that presently provide parts of the functionality however these features are not full featured that is these applications only Live/AirSync a specific feature. For instace take a look at AirVideo, GoodReader or Dropbox they each have to be installed separately and in some cases require their own server software installed on your PC or MAC. If an AirSync solution was added to iOS 5 (iPhone 5, future iOS update for iPad 2) this functionality would be integrated into iTunes without the need to purchase or install additional products.

Why does the team here at Apple Newz believe this feature is coming to the iPhone 5?
• Firstly Steve Jobs indicated this feature would be included very soon
• An application was recently rejected by the AppStore that would have provided this functionality
• Other devices already have this feature, so it’s something Apple need to do ASAP to avoid losing market share

Some industry analysts are predicting this feature will be available in iOS 4.3 however we believe this is a major update the likes of which is suited to product refresh such as the iPhone 5/iOS 5, it is also the type of feature that would both encourage more users to purchase a new iPhone as well as existing iPhone users to upgrade to an iPhone 5, which is why we are betting on an iPhone 5
